Single Origin

AKARA comes from one spring

Blending is common practice in the bottled water industry. Water from multiple springs is combined to achieve consistent mineral profiles across batches. It makes logistical sense—if one source runs low, others compensate. If mineral content varies seasonally, blending averages it out.

But blending eliminates terroir.

AKARA is sourced from a single protected spring in the Shivalik Ranges. Every bottle, every batch, every year—one origin.

This decision introduces complexity. If the spring’s output is finite, production is limited. If mineral composition shifts slightly with seasonal rainfall, variation must be communicated honestly rather than engineered away.

But single origin preserves what blending destroys: the unique geological signature of a specific place.

Wine drinkers understand this intuitively. A Barolo from Piedmont tastes distinct from a Barolo from a neighboring vineyard because terroir operates at a granular level. Soil composition, elevation, sun exposure—all matter. Blending wines from different estates may create consistency, but it erases the specificity that makes terroir valuable.

Water is no different.

AKARA’s spring sits at a precise location within the Shivalik formation. The bedrock beneath it has a specific mineral composition. The aquifer depth determines filtration time. The elevation influences pressure and flow rate.

Move fifty kilometers in any direction, and these variables change. The water may still be “Himalayan,” but it is not the same water.

AKARA does not blend. It does not supplement from secondary sources during high demand. It does not adjust mineral content to match a target profile.

What the Shivalik aquifer produces, AKARA preserves.

This limits scalability. It means supply is finite. It means AKARA cannot be everywhere at once.

But it also means every bottle carries the same terroir—a geological signature that can be traced to one protected spring, one formation of bedrock, one expression of the Himalayas.

Single origin is not about romanticism. It is about honesty. If terroir matters, origin cannot be negotiable.
